Uniting some of the freshest and funniest creative minds on Broadway, Bring It On: The Musical is inspired by the Bring It On film and features an original story by Tony® Award winner Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q), music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights), music by Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning composer Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), lyrics by Broadway lyricist Amanda Green (High Fidelity) and music supervision by Tony and Grammy® Award winner Alex Lacamoire (In The Heights). The production is directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler (In the Heights).

Bring It On: The Musical premiered in a developmental production at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta in early 2011 and launched a 13-city national tour from the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles on October 30, 2011, which ended in Toronto on Sunday, June 3, 2012. Making a direct transfer to Broadway, Bring It On: The Musical began preview performances at the St. James Theatre (246 W 44th Street) on Thursday, July 12, 2012, celebrated its Opening Night on Wednesday, August 1, 2012, and played through Sunday, December 30, 2012 - a 12-week extension to the production's limited Broadway engagement, which was originally scheduled to close October 7, 2012.
The Original Broadway Cast Recording of Bring It On: The Musical, produced by Ghostlight Records and available on Back Lot Music, was released for digital download on iTunes on September 25, 2012 and in stores on October 16, 2012.
